From an unknown region where trainers have to attend school before starting their journey, Jarek didn't have the best grades. He stayed back after failing the final exam, missing his chance to be a trainer.[break][break]

But that didn't stop him. With his trusty starter, Charmander, catching a Pikachu, and a Caterpie and evolving to its final form, Jarek managed to pass the exam, receiving his license, but missing the league of his region.[break][break]
